1. What is a Virtual Assistant?

A Virtual Assistant (or VA) works independently at an arm’s length, via the Internet, utilizing the latest technologies, to provide immediate professional support, services and skills to busy entrepreneurs and business managers.

Virtual Assistants come from various backgrounds. However, the most important qualification in becoming a Virtual Assistant is possessing a minimum of five (5) years administrative experience which is typically achieved in the corporate world (non-virtual). Many Virtual Assistants have gained experience as administrative assistants, executive assistants, secretaries, paralegals, legal secretaries, etc.

They are independent contractors who work on a contractual basis and abide by the Code of Ethics requiring integrity, honesty and due diligence. They rely on various means of communication, such as phone, fax, e-mail, mail, texting, etc. to complete projects.
